About AIS
Our mission at the Alternative Investment Society (AIS) is to enhance education, promote professional development, and prepare students for successful careers in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds.
We achieve this by hosting networking events, interactive workshops, and guest speakers, while providing resources to support the application and interview process.
Our six specialized divisions ensure deep, focused learning across the full spectrum of alternative investment strategies — combining educational enrichment, professional development, and applied learning through case studies and real-world experiences.
Our Divisions
Six specialized teams, each focused on a distinct area of investment.
Private Equity
Our Private Equity division explores buyout strategies, LBO modeling, and value creation in portfolio companies. Members gain hands-on experience with deal analysis and due diligence processes.
Venture Capital
The Venture Capital division focuses on startup ecosystems, early-stage investing, and emerging technology trends. Members learn to evaluate pitch decks, assess market opportunities, and understand VC fund mechanics.
Hedge Funds
Our Hedge Funds division covers quantitative and fundamental strategies across public markets. Members study market analysis, risk management, and portfolio construction techniques.
Real Estate
The Real Estate division examines property investment, REIT analysis, and real asset valuation. Members explore commercial and residential market dynamics across European markets.
Private Credit
The Private Credit division studies direct lending, debt advisory and credit analysis for European companies. Members learn to assess credit risk, structure financing and understand how private debt funds generate returns.
Infrastructure
The Infrastructure division covers energy, transport, digital and social infrastructure. Members analyse long-term contracted cash flows, project finance structures and the funds that invest in essential assets.

How we recruit
AIS recruits at the start of each semester, and each division chooses its own analysts. Applications are announced in our newsletter and on LinkedIn.
Step 1
Written application
You apply online to the division you want to join.
Step 2
Interview
Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by members of that division.
Step 3
Offer
Successful candidates join their division as analysts and start working on its research.
Applications have historically been very competitive: between 1 and 4 percent of applicants receive an offer. If you are not selected, you are welcome to apply again in a later round.
